Today we joined Reverend Christopher to Victor Primary, J Love Primary, and again to Richie School. We spoke more about Mark chapter 4 and how Jesus chose disciples who listened to their teachers! The good book is open to all interpretations. Each school brimmed with excited students waving hello and one posse of 6 year olds even followed us all over the campus. We imagine this is what being Disney Princesses is like.

In speaking to the principals, we learned about all the ambitious plans to build more classrooms, hire more teachers, and educate more students. One school even built a new classroom every year. This was normal; around half of Uganda’s population is under 15 so the fast-paced construction of new classrooms to educate the youth is crucial. Even on schooldays the streets of Katooke are lined with children and teenagers who don’t have a public school system to benefit from like America. One principal remarked, “Anywhere you build a school here, the children will come.” And with big smiles and little school sweaters they do!
