I am from Kentucky and Ohio but I spend most of my time in Kentucky. I am excited to start my junior year in Sewanee this upcoming fall where I am studying Biology. I have had an interest with working with children for several years. Prior to this year I have spent four summers teaching tennis to kids. I am very excited for my upcoming summer with FOCAGIFO. Meeting new faces and making new memories in Africa will make for the best summer yet!

I am from Cold Spring Harbor, New York and also a rising junior at Sewanee. I first became interested in service by working with my Episcopal Church on hurricane relief on Long Island and learning about service in five years of Quaker School. At Sewanee as a Bonner site leader I tutor inmates in a local jail as part of a relationship between the university and the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department. It has prepared me well for this partnership in Uganda as I will continue to teach and develop programs and resources. However, this will be a new challenge as I have never before been to Africa nor worked with these types of students. I can’t wait to see what I can offer to FOCAGIFO and what they will teach me!
